What I Do as a Personal Shopper

Two of the most common questions I get when I mention I do personal shopping are “What is personal shopping?” and “What do you do as personal shopper?”

Personal shopping simply means purchasing items on behalf of clients. It is also the same definition of a personal shopping assistant. The difference of being a personal shopper (based on research) from the latter is that it involves consultation and giving advice to the client. At some instances, being a personal shopper also means you offer styling services.

I can’t say I’m a fashion expert nor a stylist since I have no educational background on fashion, but having worked as a production designer/art director in film, tv and ads at least makes me credible and confident enough to be a personal shopper. Actually, both jobs are highly similar, only this time, purchases will be used in real life and not for fictional purposes. No more visual tricks.

Now, what goes behind those purchases? What do I specifically do? Obviously doing the pre-order part of my services isn’t part of the discussion (it falls under being a personal shopping assistant). Here are the some of the things I do for my clients:

Inspiration Board #10: Curvy-licous Summer

Curvalicous Summer

Personal Purchases from Hong Kong

After two freezing weeks in Hong Kong, I’m back here in QC  again.  I wasn’t prepared for the cold weather in Hong Kong, and by cold I mean as low as 5 degrees! Brrrr. Most of the time I can’t feel my toes and fingers haha. And I found myself staying indoors during the first day of my HK trip.  I actually wanted to stay indoors forever. Nevertheless, I didn’t let the weather stop me from my personal shopping duties.  It was quite tiring but again and again, I enjoyed doing it. The rush kept my mind away from the cold.

This February batch had the most footwear requests (winter season= boots. Go figure.). I kinda got worried with the weight of my luggage. But it’s cool. I managed to squeeze everything within the limit.

So as soon as I finished personal shopping, I rewarded myself. The sale all around got me going cray-cray!And there were a lot of cool stuff being sold. Wish I had more cash with me then. Will share photos of interesting items I saw in HK later in a separate post.

Anyway, I just like to share what I purchased. Continue reading

Prepping for Summer

Can’t believe it’s already March!  And in few weeks it will be Holy Week once again, where majority may be opting to go on a vacation.

Beach anyone?

While some are prepping up like losing weight, planning their itinerary and completing their wardrobe,  I’m doing some preparations myself.

Yup I’m getting Manic for Attic. I’m creating few accessories to pair them with several items that I’ll be putting up in the Attic.

Time to pair these with dresses

Few accessories I was able to make

Time to mix-and-match. Hoping I would be able to finish by next week.

Also I’ll be adding sale/promo items so summer outfit won’t contribute to your possible pocket holes :p

Updates soon!
